
Race Checklist
Your race is finally in sight. You are in or approaching your final peak weeks leading into taper. As your workouts start to wind down, there are a few final things you will need to take care of leading up to the race. Check out our pre-race checklist to make sure you’re ready to roll.
Four weeks prior
- Major bike tune up
- Replace cables
- Change brake pads
- Change drivetrain: Chain, chainrings and cassette
Race Week
Monday
- Install race tires
- Continental Grand Prix 4000s II 700/25:
- Fast race tire with good puncture resistance
- Zipp Tangente Speed 700/25
- Comparable to the 4000s with better aerodynamic benefits on Zipp wheels
- Continental Grand Prix TT 700/25
- Saves 5 watts over the 4000s
- Minimal puncture resistance
- Use for sprint/olympic distance, HIM racing for podium
- Continental Grand Prix 4000s II 700/25:
- Install disk cover
- Change power meter battery
Wednesday
