2017 IRONMAN Santa Rosa
So Mike Reilly called me an Ironman ... so it must be true even if I still don't really believe it. However, let's just say that last Saturday was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. And I can't wait to do it again!Just a semi-quick post to thank those who made this possible for me. First and foremost I have to thank my coach, Dave Sek ... without him, I probably could have finished, but working with him over the past 8 months or so, I was able to do so in 12 hours 30 minutes, defying even my own expectations. From the beginning, I knew that I would have definitely been in over my head. So thanks Dave. A million times over.
Second, I wanted to thank all the folks there. My teammates Dave,
,
.
and
and my fraternity Brother
. As moral support, especially during the missing bike phase (Long story
:P
) and cheerleaders, I couldn't have asked for a better crew. Thank you for completing the experience for me
:D
<3
For all of my family and friends at home. You support was in my heart the whole time. Especially my family at my cousin
' wedding (sorry for the distraction
:)
) as well as my friends
and
, who have been my biggest cheerleaders since i started this crazy journey. To the rest of you, your texts, posts, and everything were just wonderful. Also a big shout out to all my friends who put up with my crazy training schedule, with a special call out to
,
, and Chris and Evan, since I may have disrupted some vacation plans in the process. Everyone else, thanks for your patience and agreement on weird meeting times. And finally a big thanks to my BTT peeps. The words of support, encouragement, and tips were my drivers on race day. A special call out to
